Ski the Alps!

30 12 2012

Vella is the capital of the Val Lumnezia and is located at 1240 m above sea level in the outer third of the valley to the southeast on a gently sloping terrace. Vella has a chairlift with direct access to the ski area Obersaxen-Mundaun Val Lumnezia. The ski area has 4-peaks, and 120 km of ski slopes: Fascinating mountain landscapes, unique panoramic views, fantastic slopes for experts and varied trails for beginners (like me).  And not less than twenty (!) bars and restaurants along the ski runs.

At the end of the run, looking down into the town of Vella. Since it is vacation season, the ques were long but that did not stop our fun!

At the end of the run, looking down into the town of Vella. Since it is vacation season, the ques were long but that did not stop our fun! We only stayed on the sunny side of the mountain and did a variety of red and blue runs.

Along the way, you can stop and have a beer and pretzel! The Tegia bar is one of the sunniest in the Surselva and lies directly on the slopes on the descent from the middle station Hitzeggen Triel.

This is the life. Look at the beautiful views from 1800m above sea level.
