Today people and companies in Ísafjörður celebrate that for the first time in many years freight transport to abroad is scheduled again by two freight companies. Eimskip’s Brúarfoss sailed into the port in Ísafjörður this morning as the very first ship to come as part of the new weekly schedule.

The ability to transport by sea will save 100 million krona per year over land transport!

Ísafjörður is a new port which Eimskip is calling and was introduced last week, substantial changes in its sailing schedule including new coastal route in Iceland with weekly calls in Reykjavik, Ísafjörður, Akureyri and Reydafjordur.
